Dr Gautam Sridhar (Dentist)
In 1999, Gautam graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Honours) from the University of Sydney. Seven years later, he earned a Graduate Certificate in Dentistry from the University of Adelaide. He has practiced in the North Shore area ever since, joining Chatswood Dental Associates in 2010.
Continuing to Learn and Provide the Best Care
Gautam knows that going to the dentist can feel overwhelming. When you are his patient, he’ll take all the time necessary to explain your options so you can make informed decisions. He believes a well-trained dentist can advise a patient best, and has undertaken training nationally and internationally to keep his skills sharp.
His areas of special interest include root canal treatments (endodontics) and gum treatments (periodontics, which includes implant dentistry). He has lectured to fellow dentists on these topics.
Gautam is an expert reviewer for the Health Care Complaints Commission. He’s also a Peer Advisor for Experien Insurance Services. A number of law firms have engaged his expertise as a dental advisor.
Staying Informed and Busy
Within the dental profession, Gautam feels it’s important to stay active. He is a member of:
- The International Congress of Oral Implantologists
- The International Association for Orthodontics
- The Australasian Association of Orofacial Orthopaedics
Gautam has been awarded the highest level of accreditation by the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry. He has held teaching positions at the University of Sydney and the University of Adelaide in their dental programmes. The additional positions he’s held includes President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (NSW Branch) and Council Member of the Australian Dental Association (NSW Branch). There are several sub-committees of various organisations that he enjoys participating in to give back.
When he isn’t in the practice, Gautam likes to spend time with his three school-aged children. His love of junk food is well-known though he also likes to get on his Lycra and go for bike rides. He’s also a qualified soccer coach.
