My teeth overlap. Am I still a candidate for veneers?
One of our patients’ favourite features of porcelain veneers is that they have the capacity to correct numerous flaws with just one cosmetic dental treatment. If you have overlapping teeth, gaps between your teeth, or your teeth do not appear as uniform as you would like, porcelain veneers may improve the appearance of your teeth.
Veneers cover your natural tooth structure with a thin, porcelain shell that looks very similar to a natural tooth. At Chatswood Dental Associates, we offer super thin veneers that are only about 0.5 mm thick. This means that they fit right over the tops of your natural teeth – without the need for altering your enamel that is necessary with conventional veneers!
When we place your final restorations, we align them in such a way that they appear to line up completely, even though you have never had orthodontic treatment. By precisely designing your smile before we begin treatment, we can determine your potential results and share what you might expect as a final outcome.
What About Wear?
If your teeth sustain wear from a clenching and grinding habit, we may suggest that you wear a nightguard to protect your veneers from the same type of damage.
